10-year-old up-and-coming painting talent Dragos Mihai Dobocan from Oradea made his international debut at the International Salon of Contemporary Art organised at the Le Carrousel du Louvre in Paris between October 20 and 22, write Agerpres.

Dragos was the only child exhibitor among hundreds of artists who presented their works at the contemporary art fair, that also won him his first 100 euros for a painting.

„My first out-of-country exhibition was this one, in Paris, where I met established painters from many countries of the world. I felt pampered by the grown-up artists, as I was the only child among them. I discovered new painting styles, as I attended masterclasses held by French and foreign artists. Also, I was able to see how real artists work,” Dragos confessed.

His set of paintings on display at the Le Carrousel du Louvre, called „In the Footsteps of French Artists”, included 32 works.

Most of the young artist’s works are in acrylic, his favorite paint type, and some are in watercolor. His subjects are inspired from nature and close to his heart: flowers, furry critters, cottages, portraits, landscapes.

According to his mother, journalist Crina Dobocan, after the exhibition they received numerous invitations to exhibit in foreign countries, including Italy or Argentina.

In the fall of 2020, the young artist participated in his first international competition – „Dessine-moi ton reve de paix/Draw Me Your Dream of Peace”, organized under the auspices of UNESCO by the Romanian Section Saint Germain en Laye Conseil International de la Danse (CID), where he won the first prize in his age category (6 – 10 years). The prize-winning artwork represents the planet Earth as a wonderful flower, surrounded by a garland that features four anthropomorphic flowers.

Dragos Dobocan also won the Young Talent Award in 2022 at an international painting competition organized by Ecole de la Loire.

Dragos is a 4th grade student at the „Dacia” Secondary School in Oradea, and attends painting classes at the „Wondrous Little Hands” Workshop at the „Francisc Hubic” Art School in Oradea, and at the „Marina Capatina” Academy of Arts in Bucharest.

The little artist, whose portfolio comprises over 150 works in acrylic, watercolor, charcoal etc., has four personal painting exhibitions under his belt, as well as several prizes at national and international competitions.
