As many as 107 localities in 20 counties were affected, in the last 24 hours, by hydrometeorological phenomena, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) informed on Friday morning, in a statement sent to AGERPRES.
The affected counties were Alba, Arges, Buzau, Calarasi, Caras-Severin, Cluj, Dambovita, Dolj, Giurgiu, Gorj, Hunedoara, Iasi, Ilfov, Mehedinti, Mures, Olt, Prahova, Suceava, Teleorman, Valcea and the municipality of Bucharest, areas where IGSU intervened to evacuate water from 131 houses, six outbuildings, 110 courtyards, 25 cellars, 84 block basements, 101 streets, six public institutions, eight economic operators.
At the same time, operative crews carried out missions to clear 31 construction elements, 191 trees crushed down by the wind, 26 poles fallen on the roadway, nine houses, two annexes, three public institutions, 17 blocks of flats and 129 cars were damaged.
Due to the fallen trees on the road, road traffic was temporarily blocked on one national road (DN 15E/Mures) and on five county roads, in Teleorman and Suceava counties, and specialized teams were in the field to remedy the situation and resume road traffic.
Also, in order to prevent situations that endanger lives and property, 40 warning messages were sent to the population at the national level through the RO-ALERT system, in 19 counties and the municipality of Bucharest.
In Drobeta Turnu Severin, the southwestern Mehedinti County, and in Bucharest, specialized crews intervened to recover the five people in the cars surprised by the large amount of water.
