A shipment of 16,000 hygiene kits provided by the General Emergency Management Inspectorate through the care of the National Defence Ministry left for Ukraine on Wednesday morning, a government release informs.
The decision was taken by the National Emergency Management Committee, which was called in a hybrid meeting by Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu on June 10, at the request of the Emergency Management Department, considering the need to maintain an adequate response concerning the humanitarian assistance granted to war-battered Ukraine.
The decision approved by the National Emergency Management Committee also responds to the request of the European Civil Protection Mechanism (ECHO-ERCC) to make available to Ukraine, from the rescEU reserve hosted by Romania, certain products of first necessity.
The Romanian ShelterCapacity (RO-Shelt) is a European Commission initiative aimed at creating a rescEU temporary shelter capacity ready for deployment during missions conducted as part of the European Civil Protection Mechanism.
