A total of 1,627 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection were recorded between 6-12 October, representing a 27.7% decrease compared to the previous week, the National Public Health Institute (INSP) reported on Tuesday.
Of the new cases reported in the past week, 451 were reinfections, patients who tested positive more than 90 days after a previous infection or another reinfection.
According to INSP, 12 deaths of individuals with COVID-19 were reported, all of whom had underlying health conditions.
During the same period, 416 RT-PCR tests and 10,872 rapid antigen tests were carried out.
The positivity rate stood at 14.4%, a decrease of 4.2% compared to the previous week. AGERPRES
