The Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP) informed on Wednesday that the total number of citizens with the right to vote registered in the electoral registry is 18,887,800, down 3,266 from the last public information, according to Agerpres.

On January 31, 2023, there were 18,891,066 Romanian voters in the Electoral Registry. The differences appear as a result of the current operations carried out by the mayors in the Electoral Registry related to the administrative-territorial units led by them and the import of data from the General Directorate for the Records of Persons, the AEP informs in a press release sent to Agerpres.

Between February 1 and 28, at the level of the town halls, 20,667 deletions were made in the Electoral Registry as a result of death.

At the same time, 56 people were de-registered after they were forbidden to exercise the right to vote or were banned.

A number of 78 people regained their electoral rights as a result of the expiration of the ban period.

The AEP mentions that, of the total number of Romanian voters appearing in the Electoral Registry, 18,065,718 have their domicile or residence in the country, and 822,082 have their domicile abroad.
