The border police from western Nadlac caught 20 migrants from Iraq, Syria, Nepal, Pakistan and Bangladesh, who tried to illegally cross the border into Hungary, hiding in a truck or walking on foot, in the field, towards the neighbouring country, write Agerpres.

„A 47-year-old Turkish citizen, at the wheel of a road vehicle traveling on the Turkey-Germany route, presented himself for border formalities on the outbound. Based on the risk profile, a thorough check of the means of transport was carried out, after which the border police discovered, in the cargo compartment, 14 foreign nationals,” the Arad Border Police informed on Friday.

According to the source, the clandestine travelers are from Iraq and Syria and had submitted asylum applications in our country.

At the same time, six people were caught walking on foot, in the field, towards the neighbouring country, through the same Nadlac area. The police learned that they are from Nepal, Pakistan and Bangladesh, aged between 22 and 38 years.

The Turkish driver is being investigated for migrant trafficking, and the foreigners caught in the truck or in the field are being investigated for attempting to fraudulently cross the state border.
