2024 presidential elections/6,700 postal voting requests registered, with Thursday as deadline

The deadline for registration of Romanian citizens domiciled or residing abroad as postal voters for the presidential elections ends on Thursday, at midnight.

According to the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP) website, until Thursday, at 5:00 p.m., 6,700 applications for postal voting from Romanian voters abroad for the presidential elections were registered on the web portal www.votstrainatate.ro.

Also, the deadline for registration as a postal voter in the elections for the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies is October 17, states AEP.

Until Thursday afternoon, 5,847 applications were registered for voting by mail on the portal www.votstrainatate.ro from voters abroad for the parliamentary elections.

At the same time, Romanian citizens abroad could register as voters at the polling stations until the end of September, for both elections. According to the AEP website, 6,751 applications for vote at polling station were received for the presidential elections and 6,067 for the parliamentary elections.
