29 flights cancelled on Wednesday amid Middle East developments

Published on

A total of 29 flights to or from Egypt, Israel, Dubai, Qatar, Lebanon and Cyprus were cancelled on Wednesday as a result of the developments in the Middle East, according to the Bucharest Airports National Company (CNAB).

The cancellations concern 14 departures and 15 arrivals operated by airlines Anima Wings, El Al-Israel Airlines, Fly One Romania, Flydubai, Hisky Europe, Qatar Airways, Ryanair, TAROM and Wizz Air Malta.

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure (MTI) recommended that Romanian citizens planning travel to the State of Israel or neighbouring states directly affected by the conflict cancel or reschedule their trips for a later date.

On Saturday morning, Israel and the United States launched attacks against Iran, with explosions reported in Tehran and other cities such as Tabriz in the north-west and Isfahan in the centre. Iran responded by launching missiles and drones against United States military bases in Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates and against military centres on Israeli territory, according to EFE.
