4,743,018 pensioners in August 2024, average pension – 2,252 RON

As many as 4,743,018 pensioners were registered in Romania in August 2024, by 1,704 fewer than in the previous month, and the average pension was 2,252 RON, according to data centralised by the National House of Public Pensions (CNPP).

The total value of pension rights amounted to 10.679 billion RON.

Of the total number of pensioners, 619,257 had worked in agriculture, with an average pension of 633 RON.

According to CNPP statistics, out of the total number of pensioners in the public pension system, the number of those who retired at the age limit was 3,811,040 people, of whom 2,186,852 were women, while the average pension amounted to 2,510 RON.

In August 2024, 4,428 people received an early retirement pension (average pension: 3,148 RON), 87,128 people received a partial early retirement pension (average pension: 2,285 RON) and 391,201 people received a disability pension (average pension: 948 RON), including 44,945 people for the first degree of disability (average pension: 817 RON).

In the same month, the survivor’s pension was granted to 449,111 people (1,179 RON, average pension), while 110 pensioners received social assistance (540 RON, on average).
