750 km of motorways and expressways under construction in Romania, not single kilometre in Maramures (PM Ciolacu)

Published on

Prime minister Marcel Ciolacu said on Friday in northern Baia Mare that there is not a single kilometre of county road, expressway or motorway under construction in Maramures County, although there are currently 750 kilometres of motorways and expressways under construction in the country.

The prime minister said that the county’s development is stagnating and pointed out that investments come with infrastructure, stressing the importance of a team that understands the challenges.

„With regret I say it: the stagnation of development in your county is obvious. We need a team, a team that understands, that sees all the challenges. (…) Investments come with infrastructure. Forgive me, we have 750 kilometres of motorways and expressways under construction in Romania. With regret I am telling you, in your county there is not a single kilometre in the works, not a single study has been completed, it is unacceptable,” said Marcel Ciolacu.
