Approximately 392,600 people, Romanian and foreign nationals, with more than 104,100 means of transport, underwent border checks at all of Romania’s crossing points on Thursday, on both the inbound and the outbound, the General Border Police Inspectorate (IGPF) reports, write Agerpres.
As many as 293,624 people and 79,692 means of transport were registered on the way out of the country, with the highest traffic values having been recorded in PTF Giurgiu – 50,800 people (5,000 daily average), PTF Nadlac II – 35,400 people (5,500 daily average) and ‘Henri Coandă’ International Airport – 41,600 people (30,000 daily average).
A number of 98,754 people entered Romania, including 9,806 Ukrainian nationals, the source adds. The number of Ukrainians who crossed into Romania since the pre-war date of February 10 is 4,394,837.
As part of the specific activities at crossing points and the green border, the border police found 49 illegal acts (20 offences and 29 contraventions) committed by both Romanian and foreign citizens.
The value of the seized undeclared goods amounts to over RON 245,365.
Fines worth approximately RON 66,585 were issued.
On Thursday, 16 foreign citizens who did not meet the legal requirements were denied entry to the country, and 35 Romanian citizens were not allowed to leave the country for various legal reasons.
