Vlad Pascu, the 19-year-old drugged driver who killed two young people and injured three others in 2 Mai Black Sea coast village, has been indicted by the Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) for other offences, namely drug consumption and trafficking, write Agerpres.
According to a DIICOT press release, prosecutors have ordered the initiation of criminal proceedings against Vlad Pascu for the offences of possession of ‘risk’ drugs (Schedule III) drugs for personal use, trafficking in ‘high risk’ drugs (Schedules I and II) and making a dwelling available for the illicit consumption of drugs.
Prosecutors allege that Vlad Pascu repeatedly bought such substances for personal own use and to make them available to other users at private parties organised at his home.
In the same case, Vlad Pascu’s mother, Miruna Pascu, was taken to the Bucharest Court on Friday with a recommendation for preventive detention, accused of blackmailing a witness. Miruna Pascu threatened the witness that she would make compromising information and images public should the latter cooperate with prosecutors in a case in which her son was under investigation for drug possession.
Three other young men were also detained in the case, including Tudor Duma, a young man suspected of supplying drugs to Vlad Pascu and the man who broke into the pharmacy of Floreasca Hospital shortly before he was picked up and taken to DIICOT for questioning.
