An international medical event in the field of neuroprotection and neuroregeneration, the International Conference on Neuroprotective Agents, was organized for the first time in Romania, in central-western city of Cluj-Napoca, from 11 to 14 September, according to Agerpres.

„A new top event for Romanian neurology, in Cluj-Napoca. International Conference on Neuroprotective Agents – September 11-14, 2022. Representatives of prestigious international institutions of scientific research met at the International Conference on Neuroprotective Agents (ICNA), organized by Prof. Dr. Dafin Muresanu in Cluj-Napoca, with the support of the RoNeuro Institute, the Center for Research and Diagnosis of Neurological Diseases in Cluj-Napoca in order to share their expertise on developments in the field of neuroscience and to advance new scientific perspectives in the field of neuroprotection and neuroregeneration. Thus, the 15th edition of the International Conference on Neuroprotective Agents took place between September 11-14, 2022 at the Grand Hotel Italia in Cluj-Napoca, the event taking place in hybrid format (with participation both online and physically) and brought together outstanding personalities and a wide international audience. Structured over 3 days and 7 sessions, the event also included a poster session, where young researchers in the medical field displayed original works. Renowned personalities such as Dr. William Slikker, Russell J. Andrews, Dr. Tucker A. Patterson and Professor Dafin Muresanu coordinated this multidisciplinary conference,” a statement sent by organizers on Thursday, reads.

„The scientific event, the International Conference on Neuroprotective Agents, took place for the first time in Romania, in Cluj-Napoca and brought together great world personalities in the field of neuroscience, whose common concern was represented by the paradigm shift of the concept of neuroprotection in an extremely complicated global context if we take into account the increasing influence of the risk factors of neurological disorders. The situation is much more complex from the perspective of geopolitical changes, of the climatic ones, but especially of the socio-economic crises generated, on the one hand, by the COVID-19 pandemic, and on the other hand, by the long-term armed conflict in Eastern Europe,” Prof. Dr. Dafin Muresanu, President of the Society for the Study of Neuroprotection and Neuroplasticity (SSNN) and of the European Federation of Neurorehabilitation Societies (EFNRS), said.
