Senate Chairman Nicolae Ciuca on Tuesday welcomed ambassador of Kazakhstan in Bucharest Ali Yerlik, highlighting the developments in the relationships between Romania and Kazakhstan amidst the current international context full of challenges, write Agerpres.
„To Romania, Kazakhstan is a key partner in Central Asia, an area that is of particular economic interest from the point of view of imports necessary for the energy sector. The war in Ukraine puts pressure on the transit of such resources to Romania, considering that the Kazakh routes were crossing Russia. The recent meeting of the presidents of Romania and Kazakhstan promoted the bilateral political relationship to a level that will allow the future development of economic ties between the two countries, so that we tend to balance trade. The sectoral areas in which we can develop co-operation include green energy science and technology, the chemical industry, education and SMR technology,” Nicolae Ciuca wrote in a social media post on Tuesday.
He added that „trade between the two countries have a consistent growth potential, and our relations can be strengthened in the future, in all fields.”
According to him, parliamentary diplomacy has a specific role in strengthening relationships between countries, and from his position of Senate chairman, all efforts will be deployed to make this type of bilateral dialogue fruitful for Romania.
