Troops wounded in the theatres of operations who are part of the cycling team Invictus Romania, together with comrades from Great Britain, Slovakia, Ukraine and Hungary, participate, between September 17 and 20, in the „Peace Tree Relay” event, organized on the occasion of the International Peace Day (September 21), according to Agerpres.

The participants will follow a route that starts in the town of Zvolen (Slovakia), passes through Budapest (Hungary), Arad, Sibiu and reaches Bucharest where, symbolically, the „Peace Tree” will be planted in the Carol I Park on September 21, informs a press release from the Defence Ministry (MapN) sent to Agerpres on Friday.

Cycling enthusiasts from all over the country are invited to join the platoon starting at the entrance to the country and pedal alongside the military staff.

The „Peace Tree” is an international project that focuses on promoting friendship and understanding between nations, with the aim of bringing together people from all over the world. Since its inception, in 2018, it has been successfully implemented in 15 countries on four continents.

The „Peace Tree” initiative was established 100 years after the end of World War I and is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic. The „Peace Tree” officially represents the Slovak Republic under the brand name „Good idea Slovakia.”

„Peace Tree Relay” is an event organized by the Romanian Army, the Slovak Armed Forces, the Hungarian Armed Forces and the Slovak non-governmental association „Servare et Manere.”
