Chairman of the National Liberal Party (PNL) Nicolae Ciuca said on Friday, after the submission of the list of the candidates of the PSD PNL electoral alliance for the European Parliament elections with the Central Electoral Office, that it represents a „commitment for Romania” of the two parties to see that the stability of the government and the development of the country are ensured.
„We have formalised the submission of the PNL PSD electoral alliance list. It is a list that includes some of the MEPs who have experience and have worked in the Parliament of the European Union. There are also new people. It is a team that we have assumed together so that we can carry out our commitment to continue with the same responsibility to ensure the stability of the government and the development of Romania,” said Ciucă, in a joint statement with PSD leader Marcel Ciolacu, after leaving the Central Electoral Office (BEC).
He mentioned that this team has the mission to do its best to continue the process of Romania’s development with European funds.
„This team has the mission to go to Brussels not for a party, not for the National Liberal Party, not for the Social Democratic Party, its mission in Brussels is for Romania, for the citizens of Romania, to do everything in their power so that we can continue this process of development with European funds, as it has been done in the last 17 years and we can all see this, money with which we will continue to develop local communities, to be able to build road infrastructure, rail infrastructure, to be able to improve the two objectives that each of the parties and all political parties have promised to have on their list of priorities, namely education and health. I have great confidence in this approach and I am convinced that Romania’s citizens also see in this common list a commitment of the two parties for Romania,” Nicolae Ciuca said.
The lists of the candidates of the PSD-PNL electoral alliance for the European Parliament election of 9 June and of their supporters were submitted on Friday to the Central Electoral Office.
