Burduja: there will be energy price cuts for many Romanians starting next month

Published on

Many Romanians will see, from next month, price decreases, especially for gas, but also for electricity with a higher ceiling of 1.3 RON per KWh, Energy minister Sebastian Burduja said on Monday.

He said that a supplier does not buy all the electricity it needs just from the market, it also has longer-term contracts, bilateral contracts, all sorts of other financial arrangements that lead to an average monthly price.

The Government adopted on 28 March the Ordinance amending and supplementing Emergency Ordinance 27/2022 by which it eliminates the sun tax for prosumers and updates the support scheme for all electricity and gas consumers, which will lead to lower prices for the next 12 months.
