Leaders of World Congress of Ukrainians Summit, at Palace of Parliament this weekend

The Union of Ukrainians in Romania (UUR), in partnership with the World Congress of Ukrainians, is organizing, at the end of this week, at the Palace of Parliament, the Summit of the Leaders of the World Congress of Ukrainians.

According to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday by the chairman of the Union of Ukrainians in Romania, Nicolae Petretchi, between April 12-15, at the Palace of Parliament, the Summit of the Leaders of the World Congress of Ukrainians will take place, an event whose official opening will take place on Friday, at 4 p.m, in the Nicolae Iorga hall of the Chamber of Deputies.

„Exceptionally, this year, the event, one of reference for the Ukrainian diaspora, is organized in Romania. The Summit of the Leaders of the World Congress of Ukrainians aims to establish the major directions and priorities of the World Congress of Ukrainians for the coming years. The discussions will focus on the development of a platform for debating ideas and proposals regarding the issues of Ukrainians everywhere, in the context of the new unprecedented challenges for the Ukrainian people, as well as the continuation of support for Ukraine – humanitarian, political, military, financial, educational, extremely necessary in the context of the war launched by Vladimir Putin, on February 24, 2022,” the press release states.

The source mentions that officials, diplomats from Romania and Ukraine, representatives of Ukrainian organizations from over 70 countries, academic and political personalities, members of the Ukrainian community in Romania, as well as high church leaders are expected to attend the event.
