DefMin Vasile Dincu: Military medicine to be one of the queens of national defence development projects

Published on

Minister of National Defence Vasile Dincu said, on Monday, at the opening ceremony of the academic year at the George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology of Targu Mures, that military medicine will be one of the „queens” of the national defence development projects, according to Agerpres.

„A very important thing is the civil and military partnership, which should and I hope will be much more extended in our society, in the future. Today, national defence is no longer only the attribute of those who wear the military uniform. There are other forms and uniforms, and that of medic is one of the most important, continuously at war with disease, for the health of people, a war for life in general. That is why the modern conception of defence emphasizes the development of experts in all fields, both when it comes to strategy, tactics, but also to execution (…) We are still retiring specialists too quickly, when they are already trained and could best lead teams. The settlement system and access to European funds is still not totally open. But I want to say that in the future, military medicine will be one of the queens of the development projects of the national defence,” declared Minister Vasile Dincu, at the celebration.

The minister showed that military medics are, through dedication and the values they stand for, some of the most important professionals of the Romanian Army and that he also invites other medical students to turn towards military medicine.

„The open spirit for the new and for renewal in general that the school in Targu Mures has is very important. I want to tell you that in the future we will continue this partnership in a creative way and I am sure that the University of Targu Mures willl become our main partner in training in the field of operational medicine and in other fields that today’s times require. Because if we lived for a period the illusion of eternal peace, today we realize that we were wrong and that we must prepare for the worst. And training in the field of defence is very important and it does not belong only to the strictly military fields, but also to other fields, because today the war has exceeded all the limits and security needs of a nation,” highlighted Minister Vasile Dancu.
