The new RO-RO (roll-on/roll-off) terminal in southeastern Constanta Port will be inaugurated on May 15, the minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Sorin Grindeanu, announced on his Facebook page on Friday.

„We want to expand cooperation with the Emirati partners for the Port of Constanta. This is the message we had today during the meeting, in Abu Dhabi, with the management of DP World (Dubai Ports). The joint project, with a value of over 82 million euros, already developed with the Constanta Port Administration, based on the Memorandum signed in June 2022, has taken shape, and on May 15, we will inaugurate the new RO-RO terminal (roll-on/roll-off)”, the minister said.

Grindeanu added that the year 2023 was one of the absolute records in terms of goods traffic in the Port of Constanta, „and the growth trend is maintained in the following years”.

„That’s why we are interested in drawing financing to increase the port capacity to reduce the loading/unloading times of ships, smooth the flow of ships in the port’s basins, expand the storage capacities and the road and railway networks within the Port,” the official pointed out.
