The new INSCOP poll, conducted in April, shows that PNL has a significant increase in voting intention to 26.7% – up from 25.6%. PSD reached 28.4% – up from 30.6%, and AUR shows a significant drop to 14.4% AUR – down from 17.4% in last month’s poll.
According to the INSCOP poll, almost a quarter of respondents believe that the priority for the next mayor should be to create jobs and attract investors.
„PSD and PNL have a much more balanced ratio in voting intention for local elections, most likely reflecting the two parties’ mayoral structures. Voting intention for PSD drops slightly, while for PNL it increases very slightly compared to last month’s measurement.
The combined score of PSD and PNL in the local elections is 55%, about 9 percent higher than the score for the PSD-PNL Alliance measured in the Europarliamentary elections.
- The intention to vote for AUR in the local elections also drops significantly, confirming the trend in the party’s vote in the Europarliamentary elections.
In terms of the local agenda, most Romanians are interested in creating jobs, attracting investors to their localities, building hospitals, dispensaries, schools, kindergartens, nurseries and only then road infrastructure and utilities. It is a mature vision of a population that is beginning to understand correctly the order of priorities for sustainable, balanced development and an improved quality of life”, says Remus Ștefureac, Director of INSCOP Research.
PNL climbs in voting intention in local council elections
According to PNL, voters weigh more heavily on investments that have created jobs and attracted EU money that they are champions of, money that has made a real difference to communities and raised living standards considerably.
PNL is betting on 9th June on the success of local administrations, on those who have thoroughly built stability, a card that is proving to be a winner, adds the source.
