The Central Electoral Bureau informs that the election campaign for the June 9 elections, local and European, begins on Friday, stressing that, from that moment, specific rules apply regarding the actions and propaganda materials allowed.
According to the regulations in force, during the election campaign it is forbidden to use discriminatory messages or slogans or messages of incitement to hatred and intolerance, as well as any forms, means, acts or actions of defamation and religious or ethnic enmity, reads a BEC press release sent to AGERPRES on Thursday.
„Voters deserve access to objective, real and accurate information in order to form their own opinion and make informed decisions,” the statement says.
In audiovisual, the electoral campaign is carried out in accordance with the provisions of Law no. 33/2007, of Law no. 115/2015, of the Decision of the National Audiovisual Council no. 149 of 3 April 2024 on the rules for conducting in audiovisual the electoral campaign for the election of Romanian members of the European Parliament in 2024 and of the Decision of the National Audiovisual Council Law no. 150 of 3 April 2024 on the rules for conducting the electoral campaign for the local election in 2024.
The election campaign ends on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 7:00 a.m., BEC also specifies.
