Ordinance that provides for salary increases of 10% and settlement of eyeglasses, adopted by government

The emergency ordinance that provides for salary increases of 10% for certain categories of budget workers, but also the settlement of eyeglasses, within the limit of 500 RON/person (rd 100 EUR), the budgetary impact of these measures, in 2024, being estimated at 1.2 billion RON, was adopted by the government on Thursday, said the Executive’s spokesman, Mihai Constantin.

The increase will be applied in two installments, for several categories of employees in the administration. The first tranche, providing for a 5% increase, will apply starting in June, and the second tranche from September.

It is about the employees from the central administration, from the fields of culture, diplomacy, from the National Office of the Trade Registry and the offices of the Trade Registry near the tribunals, for the staff from the public authorities and institutions fully financed from their own revenues, subordinated, under the authority or in the coordination of the Government, the ministries and other specialized bodies of the public administration, central and local, from those under the coordination of the prime minister, as well as those under the control of the Parliament. Also, the increase will apply to civil servants and contract staff from the mayor’s specialized apparatus, from localities with up to 20,000 inhabitants.

Mihai Constantin pointed out that the decision at the European level is regulated by the same normative act, which allows employers to settle the purchase of eyeglasses for employees who normally use a device with a screen, for a significant period of working time within the limit of 500 RON/person.
