The balance of non-governmental credit granted by credit institutions increased, in April 2024, by 0.9% compared to March 2024 (0.8% in real terms), up to the level of 391.444 billion RON, informs the National Bank of Romania (BNR), through a press release.
Loans in RON, with a weight of 68.7% in the total volume of non-governmental credit, increased by 0.7%, and foreign currency credit expressed in RON, with a weight of 31.3% in the total volume of non-governmental credit, increased by 1.4% (1.3%, if the indicator is expressed in euros).
Compared to the same period of 2023, the non-governmental credit registered an increase of 5.8% (-0.1% in real terms), due to the 7.3% increase in the component in RON (1.3% in real terms) and with 2.8% of the foreign currency component expressed in RON (1.9% in the case of expressing the indicator in euros).
Government credit increased by 4.2% in April 2024 compared to March 2024, up to 225.740 billion RON. Compared to April 2023, it increased by 26.2% (19.1% in real terms).
The monetary mass in a broad sense (M3) recorded, at the end of April 2024, a balance of 689.379 billion RON. This increased by 1.4% (1.3 in real terms) compared to March 2024, and compared to April 2023 it increased by 11.4% (5.2% in real terms).
