The minister of culture, Raluca Turcan, on Tuesday stated that Romania has received a favourable decision for the inclusion with the UNESCO World Heritage List of the Sculptural Ensemble of Constantin Brancusi at Targu Jiu and the Roman Limes / the Frontiers of the Roman Empire – the Danube Limes, in the preparatory documents for the 46th meeting of the World Heritage Committee, which will take place in India at the end of July.

Raluca Turcan added that the result was possible thanks to the sustained efforts of valuable multidisciplinary teams.

„This excellent and long-awaited result was possible thanks to the sustained efforts of valuable multidisciplinary teams, which, under the coordination of the National Heritage Institute, produced two solid files that convincingly argue, in both cases, both the exceptional universal value and the system of management and protection dedicated to its protection,” Turcan wrote on her Facebook page.

The minister of culture states that she confidently awaits the final decisions of the World Heritage Committee.

„Together we enjoy and are aware of the responsibility to continue to protect this unique heritage. We confidently await the final decisions of the World Heritage Committee and its recommendations regarding the protection and management of these exceptional values!” Raluca Turcan said.
