Gov’t to consider bringing presidential election date close to parliamentary election

Published on

National leader of the National Liberal Paty (PNL) Nicolae Ciuca said on Wednesday that an analysis could be made of whether the presidential election should be organised close to the parliamentary election, as it had been done over time, adding that that there is currently no government decision on its date.

„At the moment, there is still no government decision that sets the date of the elections, it can come into discussion and we can analyse to see which are the good parts, which are the less good parts regarding campaigning in summer time or to take them to where it really was, close to the parliamentary election,” Ciuca said, when asked if September stays the date of the presidential election, as established in the ruling coalition, or it will be moved down to December, as usual.
