PM Ciolacu announces bill introducing EU minimum wage in Romania was put up for public debate

Published on

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu announced on Thursday that the bill on the introduction of the European minimum wage in Romania was put up for public debate.

„Elections are over, let’s get back to the Romanians’ priorities. I’m glad that inflation keeps going down, it’s already close to 5 percent, and we will continue to take measures to protect the population’s purchasing power. I saw that the bill regarding the introduction of the European minimum wage was made public as part of the decisional transparency procedure. We want Romanians to have jobs that pay as close as possible to the European average. I think that’s what Romanians expect from us, a better standard of living and fair prices, not circus in the streets,” the prime minister said at the beginning of the weekly government meeting.

Ciolacu also thanked the ministers for keeping the government’s activity away from the electoral campaign.
