Average net salary hits 5,217 RON in April

The average net salary was 5,217 RON in April 2024, up by 32 RON (+0.6%) compared to March 2024, according to data published on Friday by the National Institute of Statistics.

The highest values of the average net salary were recorded in information technology services activities (including computer services activities), 11,971 RON, and the lowest in the manufacture of clothing, 2,787 RON.

Compared to April 2023, the average net salary increased by 14.3%.

In April 2024, the average gross salary was 8,532 RON, 30 RON (+0.4%) higher than in March 2024.

The real wage earnings index was 107.9% in April 2024 compared to April 2023.

In the budgetary sector, in April 2024, the average net wage decreased slightly compared to the previous month in education (-1.7%), respectively in health and social assistance (-0.1%). The average net salary increased slightly compared to the previous month in the public administration (+1.4%).
