Romania continues the in-depth dialogue with the Republic of Moldova, in order to give Chisinau all the necessary support in the process of joining the European Union. It is mandatory to combat disinformation and manipulations that will be placed in the public space until October 20, when the presidential elections will be held across the Prut river, simultaneously with the referendum for European integration, said Tuesday the president of the Senate, Nicolae Ciuca, at the meeting with Ina Coseru, the president of the Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.

According to a statement posted on the Senate’s website, the president of the Senate expressed his intention to continue the in-depth dialogue of recent years and conveyed his appreciation regarding the excellent level of cooperation relations between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, including at the parliamentary level.

Ciuca conveyed to his interlocutor „full confidence in the efforts made by president Maia Sandu, the Government and the Parliament to fulfill the goals of reform, development and confirmation of the Republic of Moldova as a reliable partner at the European and international level”.

The chairman of the Senate emphasized „the professional way in which the Chisinau authorities managed the recent destabilization challenges, the security of the Republic of Moldova being a major priority for Romania”, being „essential in the regional context, and closely related to the security of Ukraine”.

Nicolae Ciuca assured his interlocutor that „Romania will continue to provide support in order to strengthen the resilience of the Republic of Moldova, offering complex assistance, transfer of expertise and training in various fields, such as cyber security, emergency management, prevention and combating arms trafficking and corruption”.
