Heatwave to hold sway over Bucharest for days (meteorologists)

Heatwave will continue to envelop Bucharest City through Friday morning coupled with high thermal discomfort and highs expected to reach 38 degrees Celsius, according to the National Weather Administration (ANM).

According to meteorologists, between June 19, 10:00hrs and June 20, 10:00hrs, the temperature-humidity index will exceed the critical threshold of 80. Highs will hover around 36 degrees Celsius, and lows between 17 and 21 degrees Celsius. The sky will be mostly clear, and weak to moderate wind.

Also, between June 20, 10:00hrs and June 21, 10:00hrs, the weather will remain hot, with highs around 38 degrees Celsius; lows between 17 – 20 degrees Celsius; mostly clear skies, and weak to moderate wind.

ANM on Wednesday issued new code yellow and code orange extreme heat warnings valid throughout the country for the next two days.
