Razvan Arnaut qualifies for Paris 2024 Olympic Games, number of qualified Romanian athletes climbs to 93

Romanian athlete Razvan Arnaut (60 kg category, Greco-Roman wrestling) qualified for the Olympic Games following a decision by the International Olympic Committee, which declared several fighters representing Russia and Belarus ineligible, the chairman of the Romanian Fighting Federation (FRL), Razvan Pircalabu told AGERPRES.

Romania currently has 93 athletes qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games (July 26-August 11), in 15 sports.

Here are the Romanian athletes qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games until this moment:

Athletics (6): Delvine Relin Meringor (marathon), Andrea Miklos (400 m), Alina Rotaru-Kottmann (length), Joan Chelimo Melly (marathon), Bianca Ghelber (hammer throw), Stella Rutto (3,000 m hurdles);

Swimming (2): David Popovici (100 m free, 200 m free), Vlad Stancu (800 m free, 1,500 m free);

Boxing (1): Lacramioara Perijoc (54 kg cat.);

Canoe (3): Catalin Chirila (C1 – 1,000 m), Ilie Sprincean, Oleg Nuta (C2 – 500 m);

Rowing (45 quota places): men’s single sculls, women’s double oars, lightweight category, women’s double sculls, women’s double oars, women’s four sculls, women’s four oars, women’s 8+1, men’s double sculls, men’s double oars, men’s four sculls, men’s four oars, men’s 8+1;

Cycling (1): Ede Molnar (mountain bike);

Artistic gymnastics (6): 5 quota places – female team; Andrei Muntean;

Rhythmic gymnastics (1): Annaliese Dragan;

Weightlifting (2): Mihaela Cambei (cat. 49 kg) and Loredana Toma (cat. 71 kg)

Wrestling (4): Andreea Beatrice Ana (freestyle wrestling, cat. 53 kg), Kriszta Tunde Incze (freestyle wrestling, cat. 62kg), Catalina Axente (freestyle wrestling, 76kg cat.), Alin Alexuc-Ciurariu (Greco-Roman wrestling, cat. 130 kg), Razvan Arnaut (Greco-Roman wrestling, 60 kg cat);

Water polo (13): 13 quota places – men’s team;

Fencing (1): Malina Calugareanu (foil);
