The Finance Ministry (MF) on Tuesday drew 45 million lei from banks, in addition to Monday’s auction, when it borrowed 335.4 million lei through a benchmark government bond issue with a residual maturity of 163 months, at an average yield of 6.80% per annum.

The nominal value of the additional issue amounted to 45 million lei and banks submitted bids amounting to 81 million lei.

The Finance Ministry has planned to borrow lei 6 billion lei from commercial banks in July 2024, to which lei 585 million lei can be added through additional non-competitive bidding sessions related to the bond auctions.

The total amount of 6.585 billion lei is 365 million lei less than the 6.95 billion lei scheduled in June 2024 and will be used to refinance public debt and finance the state budget deficit.
