Gov’t approves ordinance on presidential, parliamentary elections

Published on

The Government adopted, in its meeting on Thursday, the emergency ordinance on the organisation of the presidential elections of November 24 and December 8 and the parliamentary elections of December 1.

President of the Permanent Electoral Authority Toni Grebla announced that this emergency ordinance will be followed by three other government decisions on the technical-administrative measures necessary for the organisation of the elections, the timetable and the allocated budget.

According to him, the normative act aims to create a separate electoral infrastructure for the two types of elections. It also stipulates how the members of the electoral bureaus for the two elections will be appointed.

At the same time, the level of allowances for the members of electoral bureaus will be identical to the allowances received by the members of electoral bureaus in the June 9 elections.

Measures are also envisaged to provide adequate space for county and sector electoral bureaus.
