Remains of a Russian drone were found near the town of Plauru, the eastern Tulcea County, after the attacks from Tuesday night to Wednesday on the civil and port infrastructure in Ukraine, near the border with Romania, reports the Ministry of National Defense (MApN).

The investigations carried out by specialists from MApN, Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) began on Wednesday.

„Until this moment, at the first of the three locations identified as possible areas of incidence, in the vicinity of Plauru, Tulcea county, debris from a Geran1/2 Russian drone was identified. Research will continue today, to cover the entire area. We make it clear that all the locations identified as possible incidence areas are outside the inhabited areas, with no infrastructure elements being affected,” said MApN.

At the same time, MApN informed that two F-18 aircraft of the Finnish Air Force supervised the situation on the border of Romania with Ukraine, in the context of the Russian attacks from the night of Wednesday to Thursday on the civil and port infrastructure in the neighboring country.

„The Ministry of National Defense has intensified the monitoring and surveillance measures of the national airspace with the forces and means in the Air Police Combat Service. Starting at 1:32, two F-18 aircraft of the Finnish Air Force took off from the Mihail Kogalniceanu 57 Air Base monitoring the air situation. The aircraft returned to the base at 3:25,” the quoted source said.

The National Military Command Center (core) notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations regarding the establishment of measures to alert the population of Tulcea county. As a result, a RO-ALERT message was sent at around 1:20 a.m., and at 2:13 a.m. the cessation of alert measures was declared in all the affected areas.

Teams of the Ministry of National Defense are currently carrying out investigations in the field, in order to search for possible objects that have fallen on the national territory, as a result of the attacks carried out on the Ukrainian port infrastructure in the last two nights.
