PARIS2024 OLYMPICS Bianca Ghelber: I’m not angry, I’m satisfied with everything that happened to me

The Romanian athlete Bianca Ghelber stated, on Tuesday evening, after the hammer throw competition, which she finished in 9th position, that she is not upset about the result, being satisfied with everything that happened to her at the Olympic Games in Paris.

„It wasn’t meant to be, but I’m really not angry. I’m satisfied with everything that’s happened to me so far. I believe that things happen when they have to, not when we want them to. I’m satisfied with everything that happened to me so far, I have nothing else to say. The only regret is that I could have won a medal with a very small result, i.e. 74 (meters). If I had the throw from Tokyo, I would have grabbed a medal, but that’s how it was, that’s how it is in life, you fall down, you get up again. I tried to give everything I could, but that’s the way it was,” declared Ghelber.

She stated that she did not have the best day of competition and that she does not know if she will participate in another edition of the Olympic Games.

„I don’t think I caught the best day, I can’t be a robot all the time, but we’re moving on. The important thing is that I’m healthy, my family is waiting for me. They were in the stands to support me. It was wonderful in the stadium, it’s like you’re in another world. I don’t know anything about Los Angeles, I never say never. Maybe yes, maybe not, we’ll see what the future holds,” said Bianca Ghelber.

Ghelber, who entered the final with the 11th performance from the qualifications (71.42 meters), ranked ninth, with 72.36 meters. She missed the first attempt, and on the second she managed 72.24 m.

Ghelber (34 years old) participated in her fourth edition of the Olympic Games, after she was sixth in the final in Tokyo. At the London Olympics (2012) she was 17th, and at the 2008 Olympics she did not pass the qualifications.

Romania has not won an Olympic medal in athletics since 2008, in Beijing, when Constantina Dita won gold in the marathon.
