PARIS2024: Catalin Chirila qualifies directly for semifinals of canoe event-1, 1,000 m

The Romanian athlete Catalin Chirila qualified directly for the semifinals of the 1,000 meters single canoe event, on Wednesday, at the Olympic Games in Paris, after winning the third series with a new Olympic record

Chirila, world champion in 2022 and world runner-up in 2023, was registered in 3 min 44 sec 75/100.

The old Olympic performance belonged to the Spaniard David Cal and was set in 2004, in Athens – 3 min 46 sec 20/100.
