Danube flow at the country entrance stationary at 2,900 cm/s in the coming days

Published on

The flow of the Danube at the entrance to the country (Bazias section) will remain stationary in the coming days, at the value of 2,900 cm/s, being below the multi-annual average of August (4,300 cm/s), according to the forecast issued by the National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management (INHGA), valid until August 14.

Subsequently, downstream of the Iron Gates, flows will decrease.

The maximum flow of the Danube at the entrance to the country for the month of August was estimated at 4,000 cubic meters/second, lower than the multi-year average value of 4,300 cm/s, and the minimum at 2,300 mc/s, the quarterly forecast issued by hydrologists reveals.

The forecast on the inland rivers for the period August 8 – 14 a.c. shows that average daily flows will generally be stationary, except for the middle and lower courses of the large rivers in the northern half of the country, where they will be slightly decreasing.

In August, episodic phenomena of important leaks on slopes, torrents, streams and rapid floods are possible during torrential rains, hydrologists warn.
