Over 45k companies deregistered nationally in H1 2024

As many as 45,547 companies were deregistered nationally, in the first half of 2024, with 34.38% more compared to the similar period in 2023, according to the statistics of the National Office of the Trade Register (ONRC).

Most of the deregistrations took place in Bucharest, respectively 7,014 (up by 30.74% compared to January-June 2023), while the fewest deletions were recorded in the county of Calarasi (296, up by 4.96% compared to the first six months of last year).

By field of activity, the highest number of companies that were deregistered was recorded in wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, respectively 10,434 (+20.85%, compared to the similar period in 2023), agriculture, forestry and fishing ( 5,148, +88.65%), professional, scientific and technical activities (3,830, +30.41%) and information and communications (3,609, +48.15%).

In June 2024, 5,521 company deletions were registered, the most in Bucharest (958) and in the counties of Cluj (315), Timis (237) and Iasi (210).
