Israel’s new ambassador arrives in Bucharest: I represent Israel in the country where my parents were born

The new Israeli ambassador to Romania, Lior Ben Dor, has arrived in Bucharest, context in which he emphasized the ties with our country, the diplomatic mission said on Tuesday.

According to the source, the diplomat’s parents and grandparents have Romanian origins. His mother, Bianca, was born and grew up in Buhusi, Bacau county, and his father was born in Bacau city.

„It is a great honour and a great joy for me to be ambassador of the State of Israel in Romania. I am very proud to represent Israel in the country where my parents and grandparents were born,” said Lior Ben Dor.

Lior Ben Dor has been a diplomat in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel since 1994. He has represented Israel in diplomatic missions around the world, serving in key roles in countries such as Egypt, Uruguay, the UK, Argentina and Brazil.

Israel’s new ambassador to Romania „expresses his commitment to strengthen and develop the exceptional bilateral relations, built on a common history and strong cultural ties”.
