A number of 116,685 people got employed in the first seven months of this year due to active labor employment measures implemented by the territorial branches of the National Employment Agency (ANOFM), the institution said in a release on Thursday.
Of the total of persons hired as of July 31, 59,471 are aged over 45; 19,316 are aged 35 to 45; 9,263 are in the 30 – 35 age bracket; 8,997 are in the 25 – 30 age bracket; and 19,638 are young people under 25 years old. Also, 22,373 fall in the NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) category.
The number of employed women is 54,557, and that of men is 62,128, accounting for 46.76% and 53.24%, respectively.
By residence, 61,833 people employed in the reporting period live in urban areas and 54,852 are rural residents.
By level of education, most employed people are middle school graduates – 38,442, followed by those with completed secondary education – 29,587, vocational education – 27,264, and 12,018 are university graduates.
Of the total number of people employed through ANOFM in the first seven months of the current year, 38,210 fall in the difficult and very difficult to employ category.
In a ranking by counties with the highest number of employed people, Bucharest holds the top position with 13,031 employees, followed by Brasov (7,266), and Timis (4,736).
As many as 314,052 people people were offered assistance for registration as jobseekers in order to qualify for unemployment benefits or inclusion in active employment measures.
