Minister Luminita Odobescu will participate, on Thursday, in the informal meeting of the ministers of Foreign Affairs from the EU member states, which will be hosted in Brussels, by the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) reports.
According to the source, the ministers’ talks will focus on Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East. Also, the European Foreign Ministers will address the post-election situation in Venezuela and the situation in Georgia, respectively.
The discussion on Russia’s aggression against Ukraine will take place with the participation of the Ukrainian minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, and will focus on the presentation of recent developments on the ground and on the EU’s multidimensional support for Ukraine.
The situation in the Middle East will be approached from the perspective of the most recent developments, in the context of the increase in tensions in the area and the amplification of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, as well as the sustained efforts of the USA in the direction of an agreement between the parties for a ceasefire and the release of all hostages held by Hamas.
At the same time, the European foreign ministers will have an informal exchange of views with the head of Turkish diplomacy, Hakan Fidan, on the topic of EU-Turkey relations.
