President Klaus Iohannis will pay an official visit to Chisinau on Saturday, which will take place in the context of Romania and Moldova celebrating the Day of Romanian Language, the Presidential Administration said.
During the visit, which is taking place at the invitation of President Maia Sandu, the Romanian president will convey „a strong message of support and encouragement for the authorities and citizens of the Republic of Moldova, in their efforts to reform, democratise, irreversibly implement the principles of the rule of law and secure the European path.”
Iohannis will also appeal to all international partners to continue to provide „comprehensive,” „predictable” and „sustained” assistance to the Republic of Moldova at all levels, especially in the context of the war of aggression waged by Russia against Ukraine and all the risks arising from this complex security situation.
The two presidents will sign a Joint Declaration on bilateral cooperation to strengthen the resilience of the Republic of Moldova, which „defines and strengthens bilateral cooperation in this vital area for strengthening and protecting democracy and stability” of the neighboring country.
