Prime minister Marcel Ciolacu declared on Tuesday that many investments will be made in the hospital infrastructure and said that „enormous steps” have been taken in terms of the medical system, but with all the „historic investments” that will be made, this system will not be sustainable „but with a fundamental change”.
„I think that there have never been so many investments, over three billion euros, as far as I know at the moment. (…) In the last period, from my point of view, some enormous steps have been taken, but, I repeat, they must somehow be developed in parallel, because the health system, with all the historic investments we will make, will only be sustainable with a fundamental change, and that is why I encouraged the project and I continue to encourage it,” said Marcel Ciolacu at the signing of the Partnership Agreement between the MS Curie Emergency Clinical Hospital for Children and the Daruieste Viata Association.
In his opinion, there is still a lot of work to be done regarding the management of the health system and hospitals.
„From my point of view, and I say it without any hesitation, without offending the manager of the Marie Curie hospital, there is still a lot of work to be done in the management of the health system and hospitals. Building is easier than maintaining. More, the expectations regarding the quality of medical services are enormous. We got rid of communism, we know how to make differences, we saw the differences between services in other countries and I think we have to get out somehow, and we can only do this with you, from this tight circle that we created for ourselves. This circle must be broken,” the PM pointed out.
According to the prime minister, the project at the Marie Curie Hospital is a successful one that will be continued.
