Romania demands compliance with international law, including inviolability of its airspace

Published on

Romania’s Foreign Ministry (MAE) has renewed its protest against the violation once again of the country’s airspace, as a drone was identified by the radar surveillance system on Sunday near the border with Romania having flown through the national airspace and left the country towards Ukraine, with the probability of another impact area on the national territory.

According to a MAE press release, Romania is calling for an end to the repeated attacks against the Ukrainian population and civilian infrastructure and the irresponsible escalation by the Russian Federation of the security situation, including at the border between Romania and Ukraine. It is also calling for compliance with the rules of the international law, including the inviolability of Romania’s airspace, reiterating its strong condemnation of these illegal attacks.

The ministry has informed and is coordinating with the other NATO allies and bodies on the developments at the border between Romania and Ukraine, including on this incident.
