Alfred Bulai requests remand annulment

Published on

The Bucharest Court will debate on Thursday the request of sociologist Alfred Bulai to annul the preventive arrest warrant in the case in which he is accused of sexually assaulting students at National School of Political and Administrative Studies (SNSPA).

Alfred Bulai was remanded in custody on September 5, following a decision by the Sector 1 District Court, but he challenged the magistrates’ decision.

The day after his arrest, Alfred Bulai was removed from police custody and taken to the „Carol Davila” Military Hospital on suspicion of heart attack.

The former SNSPA professor is accused of committing the offenses of misuse of office for sexual purposes and sexual assault.

The investigation stems from a journalistic investigation by the Snoop website. Alfred Bulai allegedly sexually assaulted several female students and some of the assaults took place during practical courses organised in rural areas.
