Turnover from trade in motor vehicles increases 2.5%, gross series, in first seven months

Turnover resulting from trade in motor vehicles increased 2.5%, on a gross basis, in the first seven months of this year, compared to the same period in 2023, according to data the National Institute of Statistics (INS) published on Thursday.

According to the quoted source, at the end of July 2024, increases were recorded in: trade in motorcycles, related parts and accessories; maintenance and repair of motorcycles (+18.1%), trade in parts and accessories for motor vehicles (+8.8%) and trade in motor vehicles (+2.9%). On the other hand, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles decreased 15.8%.

Also, in the assessed period, as an adjusted series, according to the number of working days and seasonality, the turnover volume of wholesale and retail trade, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles increased 2.2%.

At the same time, INS data reveal that in July 2024, in comparison with July of the previous year, in July 2024, the turnover in the motor vehicle trade increased 6.6%, as a gross series, and 2.3%, as an adjusted series.

Compared to June this year, in July total turnover in wholesale and retail trade, maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, gross series, grew 2.2% in July, due to activities in: trade in motorcycles and related parts and accessories; maintenance and repair of motorcycles (+28.6%), trade in parts and accessories of motor vehicles (+11.6%) and maintenance and repair of motor vehicles (+6.1%). By contrast, trade in motor vehicles fell 2.6% month-on-month.

At the same time, turnover from the same type of trade, as an adjusted series, increased slightly 0.3% in July 2024 compared to June.
