A new X-ray scanner is ready to be put into operation in Siret customs, and by the end of the year such scanners will be operational in Constanta North, Constanta South, Iasccea, Halmeu and Oravita, the Minister of Finance, Marcel Bolos announced on Thursday.

„In Siret customs, the last procedural formalities are being completed so that as of October we will have a scanner for trucks in operation. As you know, I assumed as a mandate priority the fight against smuggling and tax evasion, in order to ensure fair competition between companies. And those who mocked our promises now see that the scanners are starting to appear one by one at the most important border points in the country. And they don’t break down a few days after they are put into operation,” the minister of Finance wrote on Facebook.

He stated that the already functional scanners in Albita and Giurgiulesti are recording significant results.
