Romania is in the midst of an energy revolution and we have reached more than 13 billion EUR in non-reimbursable funds, which we have managed to attract, and somewhere around 10 billion are already in operation in the market, Energy minister Sebastian Burduja told the annual InvestEnergy conference and the Gala dedicated to energy specialists on Thursday, which is held under the patronage of the Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE).
„Very many beneficiaries have found that we have signed contracts, investments under the PNRR [the National Recovery and Resilience Plan] in the production of green energy, 460 million EUR, with 300 or so contracts. A good part of them are coming to completion and I believe that by the end of the year there will be around 100 projects that will either be put into operation or at least in trials,” said Burduja.
The Energy Minister also mentioned that there are 815 million EUR from the Modernisation Fund for production and self-consumption of green energy, solar wind, plus three hydro projects.
Sebastian Burduja also said that Romania’s energy security, competitiveness and living standards should not be compromised just for the sake of greener energy.
The above-mentioned conference was attended by Romanian energy sector officials and representatives of industry associations.
