PSD, employers, trade union agree on no tax increase, ease labour tax burden

Published on

The Social Democrats had consultations these days with trade unions and employers, with the common conclusion being that Romania cannot afford tax increases in 2025, and the most important solutions must be aimed at encouraging work, increasing productivity and reducing the tax burden, especially on employees on low and medium income, according to the Social Democratic Party (PSD).

Governance solutions for economic development and budgetary balancing in the medium and long term have to focus on boosting investment and business in Romania, while strengthening fiscal discipline and increasing taxpayers’ compliance.

The trade unions and employers’ associations will send their written proposals that will be taken into account when drawing up the government programme unveiled by PSD for the 2025-2028 legislature.

The discussions with the representatives of the trade unions and employers’ associations conclude the cycle of public consultations organised by the PSD within the campaign „What do you want for Romania!”, which took place in recent weeks.
