Turkey is Romania’s number one trading partner outside the European Union, being both the main outlet for Romanian products and the first country of origin of goods imported from outside the European Union, said the president of the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIB), Iuliu Stocklosa.

„The main problem of bilateral trade is the large deficit of the trade balance to the detrient of our country (-3.6 billion USD in 2023 and -2.1 billion USD in the first half of 2024) with possible negative influences on the smooth functioning of economic cooperation. Therefore, we advocate that Romanian companies should be more active on the Turkish market, and that the firms and companies from your country should be equally concerned with the purchase of products and services from Romania,” said Iuliu Stocklosa, according to a CCIB press release.

Iuliu Stocklosa received this week an economic mission made up of members of the „Thrace Health Tourism Development” Association in the Thrace region for the promotion of medical services offered to patients from other countries.

The head of the economic mission from the Thrace region, Dr. Mustafa Donmez, General Secretary of Tekirdag Association of Public Hospitals, the president of the Association, introduced the members of the delegation, saying that the medical services offered by private hospitals and clinics in the region are at a high professional level, use state-of-the-art technology and equipment, and the price-quality ratio makes them competitive and more accessible compared to the well-known clinics in Istanbul.
